SeaShield Rigspray
The Harlem River runs between Manhattan and the Bronx. The original bulkhead on the river bank was made from timber which was heavily deteriorated. This bulkhead was to be replaced by steel sheet piling. In total 212 – 1.83m x 23m sheet pilings were protected using 30,000 litres of SeaShield Rigspray which had been selected by the engineering consultant. The Rigspray was shop applied in two coats of 750µm to give a total thickness of 1500µm.
